PocketInk is an independent blog about the Xteink X4 — the 4.3-inch, 77-gram, ESP32-powered pocket e-reader with unlocked firmware. It is not affiliated with Xteink. The goal is simple: answer the real questions owners actually ask, and test the answers on a real device.

How we test

Firmware and recovery steps are only published after they've been run on hardware — a bad flashing instruction can scare or brick someone's device. Every guide is grounded in real community evidence and checked against primary sources, from the official product pages to the firmware projects themselves.

If something hasn't been verified, it says so. No guesswork dressed up as instructions.
