PocketInk covers any pocket-sized ink reader. We start with Xteink because
it's what we use. Here's the whole lineup — the X3 and X4 you can buy today,
and what's confirmed and rumored about what's next.
The smallest one — pogo-pin charging, phone-back carry.
The most pocketable Xteink. A 3.7-inch, 259-PPI E Ink reader that rides on the back of your phone via magnets. Charges over a proprietary magnetic pogo-pin cable rather than USB-C, which is its one real quirk.
Smallest, lightest Xteink at 58 g
Magnetic phone-back carry
Open to community firmware (CrossPoint, Microreader)
The 4.3-inch model most people buy. ESP32-powered, USB-C charging, magnetic-ready, and the centre of the community firmware and modding scene. No front light and no touchscreen — that is the design, not an omission.

The Android pivot — sideload Kindle, Kobo, anything.
Xteink's first Android model. Android 11 means you can sideload Kindle, Kobo, or any reading app — a clean break from the ESP32-based X3/X4 — and it adds a front light for the first time. Launched in China; an international release is expected around July 2026. Specs below are press-reported and community-consistent but not yet on xteink.com.
Rumored touchscreen X4 with a backlight — not Android.
A rumored touchscreen X4 with a backlight. Despite the name it is not the Android device (that is the S4) — reports point to a rewritten Xteink OS, possibly moving off ESP32 to an Allwinner/Linux chipset. In pre-production with no firm price or date. Everything here is single-source and soft; treat as speculation.
Touchscreen + backlight refresh of the X4
NOT Android — rewritten Xteink OS (the S4 is the Android one)
